Rabbi Dr. Daniel Friedman (returning again to our program for the 4th year)received his PhD in International Relations from the University of Alberta and has also received advanced rabbinical ordination semicha yadin yadin from the head of the Beth Din of America. He has served as senior rabbi in Alberta, Canada and at the 1200 family Hampstead Garden Suburb Synagogue in London. He was the inaugural chair of the Holocaust Monument of Canada and was a delegate to the World Holocaust Forum 2020 at Yad Vashem. He is the author of highly acclaimed and innovative The Transformative Daf book series for Daf Yomi acolytes and his articles have appeared in The Jerusalem Report, The Jewish Week, Jerusalem Post, Haaretz, National Post (Canada), OU Jewish Action and numerous other prominent publications.
Rabbanit Batya Friedman (returning again to our program for the 4th year) is a community builder and activist and the holder of an MBA with a specialization in non-profit management. After graduating, she became the director of The Interfaith Housing Initiative, a coalition established in partnership with the City of Edmonton to alleviate the homelessness crisis. For the past three years, she served as full-time congregational rebbetzin at Hampstead Garden Suburb Synagogue, initiating a new and exciting phase of history whereby rebbetzins are recognized as spiritual leaders of their shuls alongside the rabbi. She comes from a long line of rebbetzins and has taught and published extensively on women’s leadership in Judaism.
Dr. Matt Williams is ADL Vice President of the Center for Antisemitism Research. He joined the ADL after serving as the founding director of the Center for Communal Research at the Orthodox Union. He has conducted or advised on most of the major studies and research projects related to antisemitism, Orthodox Judaism and Jewry, and Jewish life generally over the past decade. He’s been a visiting professor at NYU, UC Irvine, and Yeshiva University. Matt holds a BA from Yeshiva University and an MA and PhD from Stanford University.

Our entertainment will include a live theater performance by the Santa Monica Playhouse performing for us, live, on stage, the widely popular musical comedy Author, Author, on the life and works of Sholem Aleichem.
In addition, Magician, Ezra Nussbaum, will be with us the entire Pesach and will perform, throughout Pesach, Close Up Walk Around Magic going to your tables as you mingle and enjoy your delicious meals as well as perform a Higher Scale evening MIND BLOWING stage performance with Ezra’s amazing magic. Ezra has performed at every known venue on the Jewish wedding/bar mitzvah/dinner/hotel/camp circuit.
Noted comedian Eli Lebowicz will be performing for us during the last days of the Chag. Eli started performing standup while still attending Yeshiva University where, he won the school's annual standup comedy contest in 2009. He was the Creator of The Quipster, Yeshiva University's first satire publication. Since then, Eli has been performing all over the United States and Canada and, in 2019, a three-city tour in Israel and over 100 Zoom shows in 2020 and 2021. As Eli tells us on his website, elicomedy.com, he specializes in performing at Jewish events, such as synagogue dinners, Passover programs, and other places where people complain there’s “too much” food.
In prior years we have had Jewish music performances from the famed 8th Day band members, Soul Farm, Yoel Sharabi. Shloime Dachs, Yehuda and Yehuda Green. We are currently finalizing arrangements for additional entertainment and tournaments including high caliber music performers for Pesach 2023, as well, as arranging for our exciting and outstanding daily and nightly special entertainment and activities for our renowned children’s program.
