Hillcrest is a small residential neighborhood in the center of Queens. Its name comes from its location on the hills between Flushing and Jamaica.

Hillcrest is home to an Orthodox Jewish community. As with other Jewish areas of Queens Jewish communities began to establish themselves from the 1920s onwards, Bukharian and other Russian Jews began arriving in the 1980s stemming the decrease in the Jewish population.

JOFY, or "Jewish Observant Friendly" Establishments are lodging establishments offering special services for Jewish Observant guests such as Shabbat meals, accommodation on lower floors and regular keys for the rooms. It can also be a NON KOSHER establishment located in walking distance from the local Shul, community or kosher restaurants area.
